Down syndrome couple
Hannah & Marco
Together two years. Bowling league captains. Marco cooks, Hannah runs the playlist. Looking for couple-friends on here.
Lovery-mail is a down syndrome dating app where adults are seen as whole people first — not reduced to a diagnosis, not spoken over, not infantilized. Meet singles, couples, and supported daters who want what you want: respect, romance, and real life.
Free forever tier · Plain-language design · Support-person friendly
Figures from our 2026 community report and U.S. disability-research sources, focused on adults with Down syndrome and their partners.
Down syndrome dating rarely gets the same airtime as other inclusive dating spaces. That silence has consequences: adults with Down syndrome report being told by mainstream apps — directly or indirectly — that they belong in friendship categories, not romantic ones. Lovery-mail exists because that framing is wrong, old-fashioned, and unkind. People with Down syndrome fall in love, build partnerships, move in together, and get married. Our job is to make that easier, not to turn it into a human-interest story.
The community on Lovery-mail includes adults with Down syndrome who live independently, adults who live with family or in supported housing, adults who work full-time, part-time, in day programs, or as self-advocates, and the partners who love them. Ages run from early twenties to mid-fifties. Some members are dating for the first time. Some are widowed. Some have been in a relationship for twelve years and want a community that finally reflects their lives.
Down syndrome love is not a special case. It is an ordinary, beautiful, fully adult kind of love — asking only for the same privacy, respect, and freedom everyone else expects.
A 2025 National Down Syndrome Society adult survey found that two in three adults with Down syndrome actively want a romantic relationship, and that the single biggest obstacle is not capability — it is access to inclusive, age-appropriate spaces to meet people. That is the exact gap a down syndrome dating app should fill. Everything else we build on Lovery-mail flows from that one idea.
Support is a tool, not a leash. Our platform features let you dial in exactly how much or how little help you want — and change your mind any time.
Every button, prompt, and safety notice is written in plain language and tested with self-advocates. No jargon. No fine print traps.
Invite one trusted person to co-review messages or help set up your profile. You stay in charge of every send, match, and unmatch.
Answer profile questions by voice note, selfie-style video, or favorite-photo picker. Writing is one option, not a requirement.
No swipe timers. No urgent countdowns. Matches wait for you. A calmer pace is better matching, not weaker matching.
Automatic screening for inappropriate messages, simple one-tap reporting, and a human moderation team trained in disability respect.
A one-page, plain-language privacy summary. Your photo is never sold, your chats are never data-mined, and you can delete everything in two taps.

For many adults with Down syndrome, family is part of daily life — and part of dating, too. That is neither good nor bad on its own; it depends on whether the daughter, son, sibling, or friend gets to run their own love story. Our position is clear: the member dating is the one making the choices. Family is welcome as a support, never as a substitute.
That looks different for different people. Some members share their profile with a parent before it goes live. Some never do. Some members want a sibling to meet the match on a video call before the first in-person date. Some want the first date kept private, just like any other adult. All of those choices are valid, and none of them is required by Lovery-mail.
A gentle note for family members reading this
If your adult child, sibling, or friend has Down syndrome and is dating, thank you for caring enough to read safety guides like this one. The most important thing you can offer is trust + information, not control. Let them choose the match. Let them learn from a bad date, the way every adult does. Be the safe landing, not the gatekeeper. For shared reading, our safety and privacy page is written to be family-friendly without being condescending to the member.

Work at a garden center. Live with two roommates. Favorite date: mini golf, then ice cream, then more ice cream.
Two of the couples who said yes to sharing a piece of their love with the wider Lovery-mail community.
We met on Lovery-mail in 2024. My mom was nervous at first, but Alex is steady and funny and knows how to calm me down after a hard day. We got married last October. Our first dance was to a song we both picked on the app.
I am not disabled and Sam has Down syndrome. What we have is a real partnership, not a rescue project. The moderators here actually understood that from day one. We are engaged now. Six months.
Many Down syndrome members also connect with these neighboring communities. You are welcome in more than one.
Sensory-friendly dates, masking-optional matches, and a community that respects quiet, direct, and wonderfully specific ways of loving.
Interabled couples, adaptive intimacy, and partner expectations — a community for dating with CP that starts with respect.
Real questions from members, families, and allies — answered by our inclusive moderation team.
Yes. Lovery-mail is an inclusive disabled dating site that includes a dedicated Down syndrome community. Signup is free, plain-language, and available across the U.S. You can filter for Down syndrome matches, broader disabled matches, or non-disabled allies, and you control how much support a trusted person has on your account.
Treat them like an adult, first and always. Ask what pace feels good. Ask what support, if any, they want on the date. Do not talk to their family member instead of them. Keep plans clear and specific (“coffee at 3 at the downtown library” beats “let’s hang sometime”). And remember the basics apply: listen more than you talk, do not fake interest, and if it is not a match, be kind and clear.
No. Plenty of members join, set up, and message entirely on their own. Others invite one trusted support person into “support mode” to help with setup or review messages. Either path is fully respected on Lovery-mail, and you can turn support mode on or off at any time.
Yes. Adults with Down syndrome can and do get married in the United States. Marriage laws vary slightly by state, and some members with certain legal guardianship arrangements may need additional steps, but marriage is absolutely possible — and common in our community. Several members featured on this page are married or engaged.
Three layers. Every profile is reviewed by a human moderator before it goes live. Message screening catches a long list of disrespectful language automatically. And members can block, report, or mute anyone in one tap, with reports answered by a real person within 24 hours. Our safety and privacy page has the full policy.
Yes. Messaging, matching, community access, safety tools, support-mode, and plain-language design are all free forever. Optional premium features exist but are never required to meet someone. No credit card is requested at signup.
